Approximately twenty-five thousand homes in southeastern Queensland were left without power on Monday morning after powerful weather events impacted the region, bringing wind gusts reaching over 100 km/h.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Broad Damage
Residents observed substantial frozen pellets as large as 7cm in particular locations. Weather authorities verified that multiple regions across the state had been impacted by significant hail.

Rescue organizations received nearly 600 requests for assistance across the region, primarily for structural issues but also for fallen timber and flooding.

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an greater possibility of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
