Two Detentions Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

This incident resulted in the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
